This is a guest post by Brandie Williams. Brandie believes that drinking your feelings should be a delicious endeavor! She’ll never say “no” to more hops or a free shot.

Remember our post last month about Studio 35’s movie and beer tasting events? It’s time for the next installment!

The featured movie this month is very appropriate: Hangover 2. The event is coming up on Sunday, May 29. The beer tasting runs from 3pm until the movie starts at 4:45pm. There will be seven “big beers” available for tasting:

  • Bell’s Hopslam
  • Scaldis Belgian Strong Ale
  • Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree
  • Bell’s Expedition Stout
  • Lagunitas Undercover Ale
  • New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk
  • St. Bernadus ABT 12

Because the movie is a new release, tickets for the beer tasting and the movie will be sold separately. Tickets for the beer tasting are $15; the movie will be $5.50. You can purchase tickets in advance on the Studio 35 website.

DRINK UP COLUMBUS GIVEAWAY: With big strong beers like the ones in this tasting, it can often become difficult to remember what you’ve tried and what your thoughts were. Fortunately, the Beer Journal was invented to help you keep track! Studio 35 has graciously offered to give some of these journals to Drink Up Columbus readers!

TO ENTER: Leave a comment sharing your best (or worst) hangover story. For a bonus entry, tweet a link to this post and use the hashtag #drinkupcbus. Winners will be randomly selected and notified via email by 5pm Friday, May 27.

I had a roommate once “delay” a hangover. He said “I don’t have time for a hangover today, Tuesday’s good”

I’ve got to say, Tuesday was rough for him.

I was over in Germany a few years ago, and I had my fair share of hangovers there. [Prepare for some vomit.] One of the worst involved me waking up and wondering how I got back. I ran my fingers through my hair and felt a few chunks, and had to inspect further to see that I had managed to get a little bit of vomit in my hair. I continued to lay in bed, and thought through scenarios of places I may have vomited. I was in an apartment with a few other people, and hoped that it wasn’t anywhere offensive. I got out of bed, and was relieved to find the puke in my trash can, just had to take that out later. This was the result of far too much jaeger and absinthe the night before, so I’ll just let you picture how wonderful I felt that morning.
