Beers and Burgers

Summer technically ends this Friday – and with it the seasonal tradition of preparing slabs of meat on the grill with a cold brewsky in hand. But astronomical calendars be damned – there are several upcoming events for you to enjoy freshly fried meat and locally-brewed beer, well into early Autumn.

First is the weekly Local Brews and Burgers series happening each Thursday through October 11 from 5-7pm at the Columbus Commons. Full lineup:

September 20: Four String Brewing
September 27: Buckeye Lake Brewery (music by Fran Litterski)
October 4: Columbus Brewing Company (music by Ryan Smith)
October 11: Seventh Son Brewing (music by The Shaw Brothers)

Your other opportunity for burger and beer bliss is Burger Wars, happening at Zauber Brewing Company on Friday, October 5 from 4-9pm. Food trucks Hungry Monkey, Street Thyme, That Food Truck, Paddywagon, Oh Burger, Tatoheads, Swoop Food Group will compete for the titles of best burger in Columbus and most creative burger, with pints poured by Zauber.

Regarding the Burger Wars on October 5th….a portion of the proceeds will be donated to St. Baldrick’s Foundation to Conquer Childhood Cancer. An even better reason to head out!
