If this is the conversation you have on a regular basis with your friends, Barr Locals wants to help you explore the Columbus bar scene. (Because trust us, there are a LOT more bars in Columbus than the one you go to every night)
“It’s hard to branch out from your regular bars without having a few friends or a plan,” said Barr Locals founder Jarad Barr. “We provide the plan and give them a great experience and taste of which each bar has to offer.”
Barr Locals crawls consist of teams of six visiting a series of bars selected to showcase a particular bar scene. Barr Locals crawls vary by month, exploring different neighborhoods and routes with each tour being catered to the best of that particular area. On the crawls, each participant gets a t-shirt, and each team receives two pitchers of domestic beer at each bar and a round of shots at the final stop on the crawl.
“We provide a way for drinkers to get a feel for different neighborhoods and what their bars have to offer: appetizers, atmosphere, drinks, bartenders, crowds, everything,” said Barr.
The next tour will explore the bars around campus, dubbed The Barr Locals Welcome Back Campus Crawl, and will take place August 24th from 4pm to 9pm. Participating bars are Ugly Tuna Saloona, The Big Bar & Grill, The O Patio & Pub, The Little Bar, Scarlet & Gray Cafe, Varsity Club, The Thirsty Scholar, Our R Inn, Suzi Cue’s, 4th Street, Midway and a mystery bar. Each team will be assigned to a route of four bars.
