andyman-ale-columbus-brewing-companyCD102.5 For The Kids has teamed up with Columbus Brewing Company to brew a special beer this Holiday season to raise money for the station’s charity in honor of long-time DJ Andy “Andyman” Davis.

CBC’s “Andyman Ale” is an American Strong Ale at 7.5% ABV. Its reddish hue and malty richness are provided by multiple layers of sweet English caramel malts, balanced by a healthy dose of Pacific Northwest hops providing an aroma of citrus and pine. This is a big, bold beer brewed to honor its namesake.

The beer will be poured from commemorative tap handles made from the tree that sat in the middle of Andyman’s Tree Bar. Current Tree Bar owner Ryan Haye donated slices of the tree to be fabricated into the limited handles that will later be auctioned off via an eBay auction through the station.

The first keg of Andyman Ale will be tapped at the Pint House on Thursday, November 21st during a Columbus Brewing tap takeover from 7-9pm. Andyman Ale will be available at other area bars beginning November 22nd, including Little Rock, Tree Bar and Pint House.
