The Candle Lab getting liquor license

hops-candleLocal create-your-own-candle retailer The Candle Lab is a popular destination for a date night, ladies night out and bachelorette parties, but for many of us, the aforementioned activities typically involve a glass of wine or bottle of beer, which The Candle Lab DIDN’T have – but they will!

Starting in April, The Candle Lab stores will be receiving liquor licenses allowing them to serve beer and wine. Their limited menu of drinks will be available to those making a candle during the blending and pouring process. Patrons will still be encouraged to visit nearby bars and restaurants while their candles set.

“We have no intentions of turning our stores into a bar scene, and we will work to make sure we create a family-friendly atmosphere at all times, as we do now,” owner Steve Weaver said on The Candle Lab’s website. “We get asked all the time about being able to drink while making candles or having wine at our candle parties and are excited to be able to finally offer this.”

The Candle Lab also announced today that their Powell store will be closing, so this change will affect the Worthington, Grandview and Short North locations.
