Flip Side has two other Ohio locations, one in Hudson and one in Chagrin Falls. The Easton location opened about a year ago, and has been dishing out Ohio raised, grass-fed burgers ever since.
As anticipated, it was pretty packed (oy, parking) and we were given a 30 minute wait time for a table, but were able to sneak into two seats at the bar and begin the drunk brunching right away.
During their weekend brunch, Flip Side has a bloody mary bar outfitted with all the accoutrements you could want, in addition to offering mimosas and Bellinis. They regularly have a fairly solid beer list, and during this brunch visit my liver only had eyes for a glass of Sixpoint Hi-Res.
Six special brunch menu items are offered on the weekends: house-made granola and yogurt, buttermilk pancakes, eggs benedict, a croissant breakfast sandwich, chicken and waffles and the brunch burger. At my bartender’s urging I opted for the latter, topped with American cheese, bacon, hash browns and a sunny-side up egg and served with a side of Bourbon maple syrup. I made a mess – a delicious, delicious mess – trying to drown my burger in that syrup. The effect was delicious. They also offer their full menu during brunch, so if this brunch burger doesn’t appeal to you try one of two dozen other specialty creations: the One Red Door with shallots, brie, dates and bacon would be an excellent morning meal.
Brunch at Flip Side is served Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-2pm. Flip Side is located at 3945 Easton Station.
