Every year we round up all the breweries, bars and beer stores in Central Ohio where you can fill up a growler, and every year the list grows exponentially. It seems Columbus has a thing for fresh, eco-friendly beer. Or maybe we’re just into big glass jugs?
Note that some places will fill growlers but don’t actually sell the glass jugs, while other places will not fill a growler that was purchased elsewhere (some even claim it’s illegal – it’s not. We’ve checked. Twice.) We’ve tried to indicate those spots below.

It’s ridiculous that some places won’t fill growlers from other stores. They will never get my business.
While annoying, Darby, I won’t cut them from my patronage.
I concur with Patrick – this is a minor inconvenience to those of us who already have “enough growlers” (is there such a thing) and don’t want to buy another one. The Daily Growler actually exchanges the one you bring in for a fresh one, which I like, and their two sizes are interchangeable.
And since you can fill a TDG growler almost any place else, it was worth the investment to me.
That, and their line-up and service are top-notch.
If you don’t visit just based on that, you’re missing out on a great spot.
Forgot Pint Room in Dublin quite possibly the best selection and place to fill a growler.

Two things: Brewery Dist WOB is closed.
I had no problem filling a howler from elsewhere at Homestead in Sept.
Bodega will be doing growler fills soon. They have to work out the logistics of it first. I think they will fill any clean growler.

It’s also good to know Zauber will start filling growlers soon – I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to walk in last month, growler in hand, and leave without filling it with their great beer!
Zauber does growlers from anywhere now, as long as they’re clean.
