Columbus ranked sixth best city for beer drinkers

Here’s a reason to raise a glass tonight: SmartAsset has ranked Columbus as the number six best city for beer drinkers.

The study evaluates cities based on the total number of craft breweries; the number of microbreweries and brewpubs per 100,000 residents; the average Yelp score of those breweries; the number of bars per 100,000 residents; and the average price for a pint of domestic draught beer. Last year Columbus ranked 14th in the financial data company’s inaugural beer city ranking.

According to SmartAsset, Columbus has cheap pints ($3 on average) and plenty of places at which to imbibe them, with 29 bars per 100,000 residents.

Cincinnati ranked fourth on the list, up from the #10 spot last year. Cleveland, which was #18 last year, fell off this year’s list. Check out the rest of the top 25 rankings below.
