Bob's Bar

In 2002, brothers Rich and Chris Beck turned a 25-year old neighborhood bar into a cutting-edge craft beer bar, one of the first in Columbus. Bob’s Bar, with the humble tagline of the ‘Cultural Hub of the Midwest’, has been providing locals with a Who’s-Who of fine craft beer for 15 years.

Given this history, you can expect their 15th Annual Extravaganza on February 25th to feature some spectacular beers. Beer Manager Rich Good has been working his contacts for months to put together an impressive list of local, national and international beers. While the final listing will not be locked down until the week before the event, Rich shared a few of those already slated to be on tap: JAFB Columbian Coffee Porter, Three Floyd’s Zombie Dust, Laser Snake and Dreadnaught IPA, Rhinegeist Juicy Truth, Rum barrel-aged Piraat, Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Stout, Fat Heads Hop JuJu IPA, 2016 Founders KBS, Cascade Elderberry Sour, Saison DuPont, Rodenbach Alexander, and ‘The Hop Hub’ Imperial IPA made especially for this event from Columbus Brewing. In total, more than 60 beers will be tapped throughout the day. There will also be a series of special firkins to be tapped starting at 11am, including an infused JAFB Rain Delay IPA, but don’t expect them to last long — Rich referenced a Tangerine White Rajah cask that only lasted 21 minutes at last year’s extravaganza.

When you enter the event, you will receive a numbered wrist band which will make you eligible for the many brewery door prizes to be given away starting at 6pm. If you need something to wash down with the beer, the Tortilla Food Truck will be on site the entire day, and custom commemorative t-shirts will be available for $20.

The event kicks off at 10am on Saturday, February 25th and will last until 2am Sunday morning. Check the Bob’s Bar website the week before the event to see the final beer list and tapping times.

Bob’s Bar is located at 4961 N. High St, immediately east of Graceland Shopping Center.
