St. Patrick's Day columbusSt. Patrick’s Day provides the perfect excuse to day drink and keep the party going into the wee hours of the morning. Here in Columbus, the luck of the Irish is on your side as many local bars and restaurants are offering parties and drink specials to help you and yours celebrate on March 17th.

Claddagh: Doors open at 8:00 a.m. for Kegs and Eggs. An Irish Jam Session gets the party going at 10:00 a.m. Starting at 11:00 a.m. there will be a $5 cover charge which will gain you access to live music from The McIans, Tim O’Connor and NYC band The Prodigals. You can also expect performances from the Irwin Academy Irish Dancers and The Columbus Fire Department Bagpipers. To top of the Irish celebration, there will be local green beer from The Actual Brewing Company. More info

Fado Irish Pub: The party starts early and continues for two days at Fado Irish Pub located in Easton Town Center. Doors open at 7:00 a.m. on March 17th to kick-off the St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Kegs and Eggs. There will also be a large heated tent with live music provided by bands, such as: Ladies of Longford, Reganomics, Lt. Dan’s New Legs, Cyril Scott Pipe Band, and Martini Affair. Fado is promising a great time with an outdoor beer garden and cocktail stations. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday the 18th for even more fun at Fado with their annual St. Baldricks Foundation head-shaving event which will go until 3:00 p.m. When the fundraising concludes the party starts back up with live music from 1988, The Menus, and Blood, Sweat, and Beers. Tickets range from $10-$54 and are available online

Flannagan’s Dublin: Get ready for a two-day St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Dublin! Doors open at 5:30 a.m. and the early birds are rewarded with a free breakfast from 6-9 a.m. The music starts at 10 a.m. with Chris Logsdon, followed by The Menus, Off The Hook, Three Ton Toad, Fat Dog, LDNL, And Shucking Bubba Deluxe. There will also be a live radio broadcast from WNCI with Dave and Jimmy and additional DJs: Chang Song, Matt Majik, and Manny. The party continues on Saturday the 18th at 9:00 a.m. with more live music to be announced. Food trucks Mikey’s Late Night slice and Michelle’s Brats and Such will also be in attendance. Online tickets are $5 and also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. From 4 to close tickets are $10 and available online.

Granville Pub Crawl: With ten locations, Granville’s annual St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl is sure to be worth the hangover. The Broadway Pub, Liquid Bar, The Buxton Inn, Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Day Y Noche, Snapshots Lounge, Granville Inn, Taco Dan’s, Three Tigers, and Donatos Pizza are all offering up drink and food specials to help you celebrate the right way. Lineage Brewing: A $15 cover charge will gain you entry into the party tent, a Lineage draft, food samples from local Clintonville restaurants, and live music from 11:00 a.m. – 11: 00 p.m. More info

The Pub Polaris: The Pub is partying for St. Pat’s starting with kegs and eggs at 8:00 a.m. followed by a lineup of live music from Tim O’Conner, J.T. Hillier, The Kells and Reid Coleman, entertainment from bagpipers and Irish dancers throughout the day, an drink specials including $5 Guinness/Smithwicks/Harp, $5 Irish Sinkers and Jameson shots and more. Smokehouse Brewing Company: Get into the spirit with the traditional Irish meal of smoked corned beef and cabbage, or opt for the appetizer version with their “Shamrock balls.” Wash it all down with some Red Molly Ale or $5 Car Bomb made with the brewery’s real ale. More info

The Walrus: Admission is free and they are offering food and drink specials all day. There will also be live music starting around 5 p.m. with the Columbus Police & Fire Pipes & Drums, followed by bands Los Tres Diablos and Willie Nelson Mandela. More info
