Columbus craft beer clubs Brews ‘n Betties and Girls Pint Out are teaming up for an event to help women who are coping with domestic abuse.

The “Pack a Purse” event will take place this Sunday at the Land-Grant taproom. Organizers will be packing bags and purses with donated items to donate to CHOICES, which women in need will be able to pick up from their domestic violence shelter. Since 1977, CHOICES has provided counseling, shelter, crisis intervention, education and community and legal support and advocacy to central Ohio residents facing domestic violence.

Donations of towels, sheets, blankets, chapstick, lotion, coffee, tea, tampons, pads, oral care items, hair care items, deodorant, socks and underwear are requested. Everyone who makes a donation will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win several beer-centric prizes.

Land-Grant will also be donating a portion of beer sales throughout the day to the fundraising effort.

The event will take place Sunday, March 19 from 12-9pm at Land-Grant Brewing Company, located at 424 W Town Street.
