If you would like to learn more about beer and the process of brewing it, The Land-Grant Brewing Company’s new educational series is for you.
Land-Grant recently launched Land-Grant University, a four session program focused on various elements of beer. Each course within Land-Grant University will take a deep dive into a specific brewing-centric topic. The first course on yeast, which took place Tuesday, March 14, sold out in two days.
“When we were first planning Land-Grant, education was something that was an integral part of what we wanted our brewery and taproom to be,” said Adam Benner, Land-Grant’s President and founder, in a statement. “LGU is really our first foray into formalizing that educational aspect. Our brewers have done an amazing job crafting up some special beers and an engaging course, these should be a lot of fun.”
In the classes, students follow along to a live lecture through a printed course book which they can keep for reference after ‘graduation.’ Several variations on the same beer are brewed in advance of each class for students to smell, taste, and compare to further explore the topic.
Even if you missed out on the yeast class, you can still purchase the course books at the Land-Grant taproom to participate in a self-led educational experience. Information on the next course topic and date will be released in April and seats can be purchased on the Land-Grant website starting in May.
