Elevator announces new brewmaster

Elevator Brewing Company today announced they have hired Doug Beedy as their new brewmaster.

“After all our time in the industry, we decided it was time for a fresh take on our beers, and we’re confident Doug is the perfect fit,” the brewery said in a press release about the new hire. Former brewmaster Vic Schiltz had been with the brewery since 2003.

Beedy brings 20 years of beer experience to the 17-year-old brewery. He received brewer training at the Siebel Institute of Technology and started his career at Boyne River Brewing Co. in 1996. Since then, Beedy has worked at various breweries in Ohio and Michigan as head brewer and consultant. He is also a member of the Brewer’s Association and a Certified BJCP Beer Judge.

The new brewer will begin serving cask-conditioned ales at Elevator’s 13th Floor Taproom beginning July 20, with a different cask to be tapped every Thursday at 4pm

Elevator will host a Meet the Brewer event on Saturday, July 29 from 12pm-close at the 13th Floor Taproom, located at 65 N. 4th St. Beedy will offering free brewery tours and the brewery will be giving away prizes.
