Brothers Drake to celebrate National Mead Day

Brothers Drake will host their seventh annual celebration of National Mead Day on Saturday, August 5 from 11am-2am at their Short North meadery.

New and limited release meads from Brothers Drake Meadery including 2016 Bourbon Barrel Apple Pie will be featured, along with guest meads from Crafted Artisan Meadery in Ohio, New Day Craft from Indiana and The San Francisco Mead Company in California, the latter of which shares ownership with Brothers Drake. Free meadery tours will be offered at 2pm and 4pm.

Brothers Drake will be signing people up for a new mead club, as well as premiering new packaging designed in collaboration with the senior student project at Columbus College of Art & Design.

Free live entertainment will be provided by Joey Hebdo at 5pm and Sacred Shimmy Bellydance at 7:30pm. The Liz Woolley Band and Emily Syring Band will take the stage at 9pm with a $5 cover. Foxfire Tacos and Street Thyme will serve food at the event from 11-6pm and 7pm-close, respectively.

Brothers Drake is located at 26 E. 5th Avenue.
