drunk brunch hungry soul cafeHidden in an unassuming building off a side street in downtown Columbus is the Hungry Soul Cafe, which just started serving Sunday brunch last weekend. Your stomach and wallet will both thank you for paying this new drunk brunch destination a visit.

Hungry Soul keeps it simple with the ‘drunk’ part of brunch, offering mimosas and bloody marys for five bucks a pop.

The food selections span a wide range of traditional breakfast fare, with six omelets and three types of “fancy oatmeal” – apples and raisins, bourbon butter peaches, or bacon, because as the menu explains “so you can eat healthy… with bacon!” They’ve also got french toast, biscuits and gravy, and my entree of choice, a breakfast sandwich – bacon, egg and cheese on texas toast. Delicious. And only $4.25! My brunch date enjoyed one of the omelettes, served with toast and a heap of hashbrowns.

Even with three entrees, and two cocktails, this still comes in as one of the cheapest drunk brunch options to date at about $25.

Brunch at Hungry Soul Cafe is served Sundays from 9am-2pm (no alcohol sales til 11am.) Hungry Soul Cafe is located at 30 S Young Street.
