Smokehouse Brewing essIn almost two decades in the beer business, Smokehouse Brewing Company has only ever bottled two brews: the first, Fussy Sipper pumpkin peach ale, was released earlier this year in response to a certain Super Bowl commercial. The second is due out this Thursday, a brew two years in the making.

The beer is “ess,” a sour ale that began in late 2013 as KA Amunet, an ancient Egyptian inspired ale brewed for the Ohio History Center. Some of KA Amunet was aged in a whiskey barrel with brettanomyces and lactobacillus, then blended with aged and soured Death Trapp Dubbel and allowed to bottle condition.

This Thursday, December 3, Smokehouse Brewing make the limited bottle run available for sale at their brewpub beginning at 5pm. For the occasion, Smokehouse will have a limited quantity of Fussy Sipper on tap, as well as a charcuterie plate for pairing with ess.

A few retail accounts will also be getting a limited supply of ess bottles, including Crafted Drafts, Grain + Grape and Pace High Carryout.

Smokehouse Brewing Company is located at 1130 Dublin Road.
