Mad Moon Cider will open the doors this weekend to their brand new taproom.

The cidery began production in late 2014 with intentions to eventually open a taproom, but not at their industrial space off of Cleveland Avenue.

“We wanted to open a taproom in more of a mainstream area but it was cost prohibitive at the moment so we thought ‘Hey, we’re already paying rent here, I think we can turn part of this space into something nice,'” said owner Peter Moon.

Despite the gritty warehouse location, the small taproom is an inviting space, with tables fittingly crafted from apple crates and accents of Mad Moon’s signature bright green throughout the space. A community table sits amidst vats of fermenting apples, alongside a Game Cube, Sega, and small collection of board games.

The taproom will exclusively serve Mad Moon cider, with six varieties currently on tap. Initially the taproom will only be open on Saturdays from 2-8pm.

“We’ll gauge to see if there’s people who want to come on different days and eventually expand our hours,” said Moon.

The taproom grand opening will take place this Saturday, May 20 from 2-8pm. Mad Moon is located at 2134 Britains Lane. Note: There is no actual road sign for Britains Lane. Look for this slightly hidden billboard for the turn.
