2 Tones Brewing will officially open the doors to their new taproom in Whitehall this weekend.

The brewery was founded by friends Anthony McKeivier and Tony Hill — geddit? Two. Tonys. They had been avid craft beer fans and homebrewers for about seven years before deciding to start the brewery, which began operation at a small production-only facility in Whitehall in August of 2016. 2 Tones has since moved into its current 3,400 square foot space just down the road.

“We did not anticipate the warmth we got from the community here in Whitehall, from all the locals and the people at city council,” said McKeivier “The community was really asking for something like this.”

The taproom takes up about 1,000 square feet of the new building with seating for around 40 between bar stools and tables plus a few pinball machines. Behind the bar, twelve of 2 Tones beers will be pouring for this weekend’s opening: Uncle Joe’s Irish Red Ale, Leela Pale Ale, Crumble Vanilla Ale, Irish Maidin Coffee Porter, OYO Bourbon Bucks Barrel-Aged Porter, K-Dawg Kolsch, Hogue’s Hope Apple Ale, High Priest Honey Milk Stout, Space Lazer Double IPA, C Bucks Chocolate Coffee Stout, and two hazy IPAs: About a Month and Magic Gnome.

“We don’t only want to brew hazy IPAs, but we do think it should be a focus of ours,” said Hill “People love them and I love them.”

Hill and McKeivier share brewing duties on the brewery’s 5-barrel brewing system. 2 Tones will continue to produce about 10 barrels of beer a week to service both the new taproom and continued distribution in the Columbus market.

The 2 Tones taproom will celebrate its grand opening this Friday, May 3 from 3-11pm and Saturday May 4 from noon-11pm. Food truck Erin’s Lunchbox will be serving on Friday and Saturday, with truck Will’s Lunchbox serving Sunday. Food trucks will regularly serve at the brewery going forward.

2 Tones Brewing’s new taproom will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-10pm, Fridays from 3-11pm, Saturdays from 12-11pm, Sundays from 12-7pm and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The brewery is located at 4539 E Broad Street in Whitehall.
