Leap Day is almost here and we are once again pulling together all the classic Leap Day traditions (yellow and blue! rhubarb! Leap Day William!) for the 2nd Quadrennial Leap Day in Grandview celebration presented by Drink Up Columbus.
If you have NO idea what we’re talking about, you’ve probably never seen the 30 Rock episode “Leap Day” – we’re celebrating (and watching!) this made-up-for-TV holiday on Saturday, February 29 at the Grandview Theater!
We are excited to support the Franklin County Dog Shelter with this year’s event. All proceeds from ticket and t-shirt sales as well as a portion of bar sales will be donated to the shelter to support their work in the community. Tickets are available for $5 online and include admission to the event and screening, a raffle ticket, and a small popcorn with M&Ms (blue and yellow ones, duh.) $25 tickets are also available which include all of the above plus a Leap Day 2020 t-shirt from our friends at Tonic Studios.
Head to the Grandview Theater at 2:29pm on Saturday, February 29 to grab a rhubarb-infused cocktail or beer from Smokehouse Brewing Company, pet the adoptable Leap Dogs from the shelter, and get your picture taken with THE Leap Day William!
Then at 3pm we will kick off our raffle drawing before screening the iconic (to us, anyway) 30 Rock Leap Day episode on the big screen! After the screening, leap along Grandview Avenue for even more Leap Day magic with Leap Deals at participating businesses including Stauf’s, Grandview Cafe, Matt the Miller’s, Avola Lanza Studio, Yats and Balboa — check out the Facebook event for details.
Remember, Leap Day is that special day when you can do all the things you normally wouldn’t – real life is for March! And don’t forget to wear blue and yellow… OR ELSE!
Poke your eye, pull your hair, you forgot which clothes to wear!
