120 MinuteWith the elimination of Ohio’s ABV limit imminent, more breweries are announcing plans to send their high gravity beers to the Buckeye state.

Since the Ohio legislature passed a bill that removes Ohio’s beer ABV limit back in May, many in-state breweries have begun working on beers above the former legal limit of 12%, and several out-of-state breweries are sharing plans to distribute previously unavailable offerings, such as Sam Adams Utopias. Add Dogfish Head’s 120 Minute IPA to the list of coveted brews that will soon be available (at least, for the limited time that bottles can stay on the shelf) in Ohio.

Clocking in between 15-20% ABV at 120 IBUs, Dogfish Head calls their 120 Minute IPA the “holy grail” for hopheads. 120 Minute IPA is boiled for a full two hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month and aged for another month on whole-leaf hops.

120 Minute IPA will be available in Ohio beginning September 5. The removal of Ohio’s ABV cap goes into effect August 31.
