One of the premier events of this year’s Columbus Craft Beer Week will be a reprise of an event from the 2016 version. On May 17, 2016, four iconic brewers held a panel discussion on the early years of the craft beer revolution in Columbus. At that time, the panel was comprised of Scott Francis (Temperance Row), Angelo Signorino (Barley’s), Victor Ecimovich (Hoster) and Lenny Kolada (Smokehouse), moderated by Cheryl Harrison (formerly of Drink Up Columbus).
This year’s reprise will again include Francis, Signorino, Ecimovich, joined by Eric Bean (Columbus). The graybeards will have a fresh face join them, with Mary MacDonald, the Executive Director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association bringing another perspective. Curt Schrieber, author of ‘Columbus Beer’ will moderate the panel discussion.
The event will be held at Edison Brewing in Gahanna on Thursday, March 18 at 6:30. A very special collaboration beer will be tapped that night. It is Legacy IPA 126. The name reflects the years of experience of the four iconic brewers that brewed it there at Edison. It will be available at Edison, Columbus, Temperance Row, and Barley’s.
Ideally, the new performance stage, under construction now, at Edison will be completed and available for the panel discussion, which will offer plentiful seating on the patio for the event. Live music from country artist Alan Carl after the event.
Edison Brewing is located at 785 Science Blvd. in Gahanna.
