SweetWater Brewing coming to Ohio

sweetwaterSweetWater Brewing recently announced that they will be bringing their beers to Ohio by September.

Atlanta-based SweetWater, the 19th largest craft brewery in the country, will initially launch with three beers in the Buckeye State.

“While on a recent tour through Ohio, I could feel the energy and excitement throughout the state surrounding craft beer,” said Jeff Chassner, director of new market business development at SweetWater Brewing Company, in a statement. “We feel now is the perfect time for us to tell our story and bring our award-winning brands to the Buckeye State to further complement their already established craft lineup.”

SweetWater is best known for their 420 Extra Pale Ale, a west coast-style pale ale. The brewery has won several medals for its beers at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup, among other competitions.

SweetWater will launch in Columbus, Cincinatti, Dayton, Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown and Toledo. The brewery has not announced which distributors they will be utilizing in each market. The distribution extension into Ohio will bring SweetWater’s availability to 12 total states by the end of 2014.
