Zauber Brewing Co has been making beer in Columbus for a few years now, but not a lot of it. As patrons of their Fifth Avenue bar know, if you don’t get a glass of Z beer on a Thursday, you’re probably not getting one, as Zauber has been brewing in a very limited capacity on small equipment.
That’s about to change. Zauber owner and brewmaster Geoff Towne began brewing this morning on the brewery’s new 20bbl brewing system, which will greatly increase in-house availability. The expansion will also allow Zauber to start distributing kegs to select bars and growler shops across the city.
An official date for tapping the new brews has not yet been set, but will take place sometime in mid-August. Myopic Red and Vertigo are slated to be the first two brews released out of the new tanks.
In the meantime, Zauber releases 1-2 of their beers every Thursday and they are available until they run out.
