Maifest 2015Zauber Brewing Company will ring in spring with their 2nd annual Maifest celebration on Saturday, May 2 from 4-9pm in the street adjacent to their 909 W. Fifth Avenue brewery and taproom.

Maifest is the traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring, akin to Oktoberfest. Zauber’s Maifest celebration will feature plenty of their own German and Belgian inspired beers, plus brews from Elevator Brewery and locally-made soda from Rambling House.

Schmidt’s Sausage Haus, Explorer’s Club and Paddy Wagon will be serving German-inspired food at the affair, and Alphorn ensemble Cheese with Music will provide live music for the event, encouraging attendees to dance along around the May Pole!

Drink Up Columbus will also be hosting a Stein Hosting competition at this year’s Maifest! We’ll be signing up contestants on-site at the event and kicking off the competition around 6pm.

The 2nd annual Maifest will take place Saturday, May 2 from 4-9pm on the street next to Zauber’s 909 W. Fifth Ave bar. There is no admission fee and the event is open to guests of all ages; the first 100 attendees will be given a festival floral crown. A portion of beer sales from the event will be donated to the Independents’ Day Festival. This year’s Maifest celebration also falls as part of the inaugural Columbus Craft Beer Week.
