gingerBeer from Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery are now available in Central and Northeast Ohio through Superior Beverage Group.

Lakefront Brewery is known for sourcing ingredients locally and implementing green business practices, and for being the first U.S. brewery to bottle a certified organic beer, back in 1996.

Celiacs can rejoice that two of the new Lakefront’s beers are gluten-free: New Grist Pilsner and New Grist Ginger, a variant of the Pilsner brewed with fresh ginger. Both beers replace wheat or barley with sorghum and rice.

The other two brews are made with gluten, but carry the USDA certified organic seal. They include Fuel Café, a stout brewed with coffee from Milwaukee’s renowned Fuel Café, and Growing Power, a Farmhouse-style pale ale named after the organization that uses the brewery’s spent grain for composting their gardens.

The four beers are available in six-packs and will begin hitting store shelves early this week.
