“Beer” and “bars” go hand in hand, but usually the “bars” in questions are establishments patrons can visit FOR a beer. However, the Glenn Avenue Soap Co. is turning beer INTO bars… of soap.
The Grandview skin care company is turning brews from seven local breweries into soaps dubbed Cap City Suds. The use beer instead of water in the soap recipe is said to create a smoother, silkier lather.
The beers being used in the project are Actual Conductor rye IPA, Actual Fat Julian imperial stout, Four String Big Star white IPA, Knotty Pine stout, Seventh Son Scientist IPA, Sideswipe Coop Looter saison, Sideswipe Pixilated Sun hoppy wheat, Wolf’s Ridge Buchenrauch lager, Wolf’s Ridge New Moon black IPA, Zauber Brewing PortGeist and Berzerker Belgian IPA.
Cap City Suds will debut at the fifth annual Grandview Digfest June 13 at Grandview Yard. Soaps will be sold individually, in a three-bar flight or in a “six pack.”
