ohio beerOhio lawmakers will hear testimony tomorrow from supporters of a bill to increase the state’s limit on alcohol in beer.

House Bill 68 proposes raising the state’s ABV limit from 12% to 21%. Ohio is one of fewer than 10 states across the country that currently limits the ABV allowed in beer at all.

“The industry has experienced double digit growth each of the last four years, but Ohio breweries have been put at a competitive disadvantage with those in neighboring states,” Rep. Dan Ramos, who has been pushing the bill for several years, told us back in 2013.

Testimony will take place Tuesday, June 23rd, at 1:30PM in room 114 in the Ohio Statehouse. Testimony is open to the public, so any who is interested is welcomed to attend.
