With the recent announcement that chain beer bar The Brass Tap will be opening a Polaris location next week featuring an impressive 80 tap handles, I started to wonder how that stacks up with other Central Ohio watering holes. After making the rounds and doing some research, here’s what I’ve identified as the Top Ten Tap Handle bars in Central Ohio:
1. The Pint Room: 102
2. The Brass Tap: 80 (opens 7/20)
3. Miller’s Ale House: 64
4. The Daily Growler – Upper Arlington: 60
5. The Daily Growler – Powell: 60
6. The Crest: 56
7. World of Beer – Easton: 51
8. Brews Cafe: 51
9. World of Beer – Brewery District 50
10. 1808 Bistro: 48
Honorable mentions go to Bodega (47), Melt Bar and Grilled (40), Studio 35 (39), Bob’s Bar (36), Pies & Pints (36) and Winking Lizard (36).
While lots of tap handles does guarantee lots of craft beer options, some would argue that too many taps could mean beer that is not quite as fresh due to slow turnover. You decide.
If I missed a big hitter, please let me know in the comments!
