duclaw 2My equation for the perfect summer day is simple: patio plus food plus beer. DuClaw Brewing sent me two of their summer selections, so I’m borrowing food recipes from fellow blogger A Local Choice that will pair with the beers and add up to a good time – bring your own patio.

Get Funky

Funk is an American Wheat Ale bursting with blueberry flavor. If you really like blueberry (which I do not), you will probably like this beer. Think Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat, but blueberri…er.

Style: Blueberry Citrus Wheat Ale
Color: Light Golden
Hop Variety: Cascade, Columbus
Grains: Pale malt, Wheat malt, Blueberry, Meyer Lemon
ABV: 5%

Pair with Nicole’s Blueberry & Lemon Thyme Hand Pies

Morgazmic

Morgazm is a spin-off of DuClaw’s Bare Ass Blonde Ale, infused with one of the summertime greats – grapefruit – and dry hopped with Citra. Tart, lemony and begging to be consumed outside.

Style: Blond Ale
Color: Golden
Hop Variety: Fuggle, Goldings, Citra (dry hopping)
Grains: Pale malt, Wheat malt, Carapils Malt
ABV: 5%

Pair with Nicole’s Grilled Sweet Corn & Blackberry Salad

Both beers ARE available in Ohio… but only in the Northeast part of the state, so if you’re heading to Cleveland this summer, check out DuClaw’s Beer Finder to find where you can pick up these two brews.

Full Disclosure: I was compensated by DuClaw Brewing Company for this post.
