147 Vine Street has hosted a number of restaurants and bars over the years; Adobe Grilas, Garage Bar from 2008-2015 and most recently Bucks & Pucks. Josh Mynes, a part-owner of BBR, Mynt and Sway Columbus, hopes to cultivate a new meaning for the space by transforming it into a multi-functional club and sports bar, Dahlia Bar & Lounge.
Dahlia Bar & Lounge will celebrate its Grand Opening February 5-7 with a friends and family night on Friday, special guest DJs on Saturday and a Super Bowl party featuring food packages and drink specials.
“I already own BBR, so we think they will piggyback well off each other,” said Mynes of the decision to open Dahlia. “The Arena District is a great location thanks to all the concerts and sporting events and we will definitely cater to that.”
The bar and lounge will serve modern twists on bar fare Tuesday-Saturday from 4-10pm. Small entrees and shareables like California club pizza, short rib tacos and Kobe beef empanadas are likely to make the final cit. Stella Artois and Bulleit products for $4 all day, every day with the possibility of additional happy hour specials to come.
There will be up to 12 60-inch televisions for sporting events and local hockey matches. Mynes said he plans for the space to be versatile, open to these types of events without having an overly “sports bar” like feel.
“A dahlia is a flower and it can have a number of different meanings,” he said. “Our bar is going to have so many functions and be really versatile just like the flower.”
