The Actual Brewing Company has been selected to brew a special batch of Stone Brewing’s Arrogant Bastard Ale using Stone’s original recipe.
Over a dozen breweries have been chosen to “adopt” Arrogant Bastard in a program Stone kicked off late last year called “Arrogant Bastard Hits the Road.” Each brewery is entrusted to “foster” the sacred recipe and brew a single, limited batch of the beer to serve only in their taproom with proceeds going to charity.
Actual’s batch of Adopted Arrogant Bastard will be tapped on July 1 and sold exclusively at their taproom throughout July, while supplies lasts. $2 from every pint sold will be donated Foster Care to Success, a program that provides college funds for foster youth.
When asked how Actual was selected to be part of the program, Actual owner Fred Lee said only, “The bastard chose us. That’s all we can really say.”
Ohio brewery Fat Head’s also participate in the program, as did Scottish brewery BrewDog, which is opening a brewery in Canal Winchester later this year. A full list of breweries that have participated is available on Stone’s website.
