Barley’s is once again gathering Columbus brewers for an afternoon of drinks, discussions, and the declaration of Barley’s homebrew competition winner.
At Barley’s 21st Annual Afternoon with the Brewers event, guests will be able to hang out with the colorful cast of Columbus brewmasters — a much larger group than when the event started two decades ago. This year’s event is being held above the brewery at the new bar and arcade Brewcadia, which promises to have lots of local beer flowing from its 40 taps. The winner of Barley’s homebrewing competition will also be announced at the event (entries for the competition were due last week).
Last year’s homebrew competition winner, Seth Draeger, will be present to tap his winning Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout, Moscow Midnight. Whoever wins this year’s competition will get to brew his or her entry with Barley’s brewers on their 10-barrel system to tap at next year’s event.
Afternoon with the Brewers will take place from 1-5pm on Sunday, June 5 at Brewcadia, located above Barley’s Brewing Company at 467 N. High St. More info about the brewers and beers that will be at the event forthcoming on Facebook.
