The Beers and Board Games Club of Columbus (which I organize) is hosting our second annual 24-hour gaming marathon to benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital this Saturday, November 5 at Four String Brewing’s production brewery.

Our event is part of Extra Life, a global 24-hour gaming marathon fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since 2010, Extra Life has raised more than $22 million to help children’s hospitals. We had about 120 people join us for last year’s inaugural event and we raised over $5,200. We’re hoping to make an even bigger impact this year, and we’ve already raised almost $3,000.

This Beers and Board Games event will feature tons of tabletop board games from Scrabble to Settlers of Catan, with popular titles including Codenames, Cosmic Encounter, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Imhotep, Karuba, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Two Rooms and a Boom, Werewolf, Cards Against Humanity, Seven Wonders and dozens, if not hundreds, more. Don’t know any of these games? Don’t worry, we’ll teach ya! We’ll even a few console games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and Rock Band.

Gamers are welcome to stay for the entire event, or just drop in to play for a few hours. 100% of the $5 cover for this event will be donated to Extra Life, Four String will be donating $1 for every beer sold, and the food trucks will donate 10% of food sales.

Food truck schedule:
11am-2pm (Saturday): DareDevil Dogs
4pm-10pm (Saturday): Ajumama
7am-10am (Sunday): Buckeye Donuts

The Beers and Board Games Extra Life gaming marathon will take place from 11am on Saturday, November 5 through 10am* on Sunday, November 6 at Four String Brewing, located at 660 N Hague Avenue.

If you are planning to attend, please RSVP on Facebook and invite your friends! If you can’t make it but still want to show your support you can make a donation here.

*If you’re wondering why this “24 hour gaming event” looks like it’s only 23 hours (11am-10am) it’s because we set our clocks back smack in the middle of this event!
