barleys-brewingAs much a part of the holidays as trimmed trees, bearded fat guys and special cups at Starbucks is the annual Christmas Ale tapping at Barley’s Brewing Company, which doubles as the breweries anniversary celebration, this year marking 24 years.

Barley’s has tapped Brian Phillips from CD102.5 to MC this year’s event, and local alternative rock band The Resisters will perform at the tapping.

“[Barley’s Christmas Ale] is unique in that like almost all our beers, it’s brewed entirely with British malt,” said Angelo Signorino, brewmaster for Barley’s. ” While hops aren’t a featured ingredient, we brew it with spicy German Hallertau. The special ingredients are evident — honey, orange zest, ginger and cinnamon — but don’t overwhelm the rich malt character.”

The celebration will take place Friday, November 11 beginning at 6pm. Barley’s is located at 467 N High Street.
