Bob’s Bar Extravaganza this weekend

Bob’s Bar, with its humble tagline of “The Cultural Hub of the Midwest,” was once selected as one of the Top 32 Dive Bars in the country, but locals know Bob’s as a pioneer in the craft beer business. A hole-in-the-wall neighborhood bar became a leading-edge craft beer bar when the Beck brothers took control back in 2002.

On Saturday, February 24, that event will be celebrated with the 16th Annual Extravaganza. Day in and day out, their 36 taps feature an exceptional array of superb local, national, and even a few international craft beers. That line-up will pale in comparison to the Extravaganza beer list. Beer Manager Rich Good has worked his magic with his distributors and brewery contacts to compile 60-70 amazing beers. Between kegs, pins and firkins, expect to find coveted beers like Jungle Juice Head Hunter and Hop JuJu from Fat Heads, JAFB Rain Delay, Hoof Hearted Roller Blade, Rhinegeist Juicy Truth, Founders CBS, Bell’s Uberon (BA Oberon), Avery Tweak and Southern Tier Rum BA Pumpking. The opening draft list for the event is available on their Facebook page.

Bob’s will be giving away tons of door prizes starting at 6pm. The Tortilla Street Food truck will be serving on site all day, and complimentary pizzas from Lenos will be brought in late into the night.

The Bob’s Bar Extravaganza starts at 10am and goes until the bar closes at 2am Sunday morning. Bob’s Bar is located at 4961 N. High St.
