Columbus Brewing brings back bronze from World Beer Cup

Columbus Brewing Company is bringing back a bronze medal from the World Beer Cup, which was held May 3 in Nashville at the conclusion of the 2018 Craft Brewers Conference.

CBC earned a bronze medal in the Mixed Culture Brett Beer category for their entry TBD Peach Sour. There were a total of 55 entries in the category. Columbus Brewing previously medaled at the World Beer Cup in 2014 with a gold medal in the Imperial Red Ale category for Uncle Rusty.

Other Ohio breweries bringing back medals include Fat Head’s (Gold: AlpenGlow, Silver: Midnight Moonlight), Fifty West (Silver: 10&2 Barleywine), Fretboard (Silver: Vlad the Impaler), Taft’s Ale House (Silver: Gustav), Brink Brewing (Bronze: Moozie), Little Fish (Bronze: Petit Poisson), Millersburg (Bronze: Pope’s Imperial Pumpkin Ale) and Platform (Bronze: Panic Switch).

“Standing on the world stage, Ohio craft breweries continue to prove their commitment to quality,” said Mary MacDonald, executive director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association in a statement. “Our breweries are making world-class beer not just in our major cities, but in towns like Athens and Millersburg as well.”
