Jackie O’s Brewery has teamed up with the mission-based organization Dirty Water Beer to create a special beer to help provide clean water to those who need it. Each keg tapped provides a lifetime of clean water for someone in a developing country via a $25 donation to water.org.
Jackie O’s Dirty Water DIPA debuted at a launch party on November 15 at the Athens, Ohio brewery. The double IPA is the first-ever by Jackie O’s to feature New Zealand hops, grown from the cleanest water source in the world.
On Wednesday, November 20, The Ohio Taproom will host the Columbus launch party for Jackie O’s Dirty Water DIPA, with samples and growler fills along with a few other Jackie O’s beers on tap: Mystic Mama, Chomo Lungma, Hop Ryot and Brick Kiln. A percentage of all proceeds from the event will go to Dirty Water Beer.
The father/son team of Bruce and Travis Rooke founded the organization in Columbus. “We were looking for a way for people who did not know a lot about the water crisis, who thought it was a distant problem, could have it intersect their lives right here at home,” said Travis in a statement. Michigan brewery New Holland released a Dirty Water beer earlier this year.
