Cinco de Mayo celebrates the unlikely victory of the Mexican militia over the French. It’s not actually a national holiday in Mexico, but in the United States it has become a celebration of Mexican heritage and, you know, booze. Here are some places where you celebrate tomorrow by grabbing a Margarita and, um, doing whatever else you’re supposed to do on Cinco de Mayo:

La Fogata, 790 N. High St., Short North, (614) 294-7656, lafogatagrill.com
An amazing patio and Mexican flare in the middle of the Short North, how can you resist?
Cinco Specials: Corona buckets 5 for 15.55, 24 oz Pacifico/Corona $5, Patron/Spicy Gringo shots $5

Park Street Cantina, 525 North Park Street. (614) 245-5115, parkstreetcantina.com
A drinking holiday screams “Arena district.” If that call sounds good to you, this is the place to be. Plus, it’s their one year anniversary! Happy birthday, Cantina
Cinco Specials: All-you-can-eat fajita and taco bar $9.99

Taj Bar, 2321 N High St, (614) 299-7990, tajmahalcolumbus.com
“Cinco De Mustachio” – Ok, so this one isn’t a mexican bar – Taj is an Indian joint – BUT they’re giving out free mustaches, screening “The Three Amigos” and GIVING OUT FREE MUSTACHES!
Cinco Specials: Bad Juans $5, well tequila shots $1, Patron shots $5, promo-priced Corona and Negro Modelo

Other spots to celebrate:

Don’t forget about all the Taco Trucks around the city! Bring margarita makings in the car and drink away while you are waiting for genuine Mexican fare. http://www.tacotruckscolumbus.com lists them all.
