The winners of the 2011 Ohio Wine Competition, held at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in mid-May, were announced recently. Of the 268 entries, 137 were awarded medals – top honors went to the following:
Overall Best of Show: Burnet Ridge, Pinot Gris
Best of Show White Wine: Ferrante Winery, Riesling
Best of Show Red Wine: Grand River Cellars, Cabernet Franc
Best of Show Blush/Rose: Heineman Winery, Sweet Belle
Best of Show Fruit Wine: Breitenbach Wine Cellars, Red Raspberry
Best of Show Dessert Wine: Breitenbach Wine Cellars, 4 Barrel Tawny Port
