I knew sangria contained wine and fruit, but I didn’t know what other ingredients involved, having never made my own. Wikipedia says it consists of “a wine, chopped fruit,a sweetener,a small amount of added brandy.” About says “sangria is made with red wine, fresh, seasonal fruit and a bit of bubbly water or citrus flavored soda.” QandA’s says “red or white wine is combined with various fruits, alcoholic spirits, lemonade, sugar, and sometimes cinnamon or other dessert-suitable spices.” Um, someone on Yahoo Answers said “IT’S A SPANISH STYLE WINE FULL OF FRUITS N VEGGIES”
So… wine, fruit and/or sweetener and/or brandy and/or bubbly and/or soda and/or miscellaneous spirits and/or lemonade and/or cinnamon and/or… veggies (?!)
Cue me asking Signature how THEY make it… Signature Wines’ sangria starts with their 2004 Rose’ which is made with Ohio grapes. However, after that I have no idea what they add because, unfortunately, they wouldn’t share the recipe with me – BUT, if you buy a bottle of Rose’, the recipe comes with!
