World of Beer Opening in German Village

Written by on September 9, 2011 in Beer, German Village, News - 5 Comments

World of Beer, a bar franchise with 15 locations in Florida and 7 currently in the works around the country, is coming, appropriately, to the Brewery District in Columbus.

World of Beer offers more than 500 beers – 55 of which will be available on tap, none of which will be Bud or Miller Lite. World of Beer seeks to serve up beer knowledge and history alongside its massive selection. Staff is given ongoing beer-ducation to pass on to patrons.

World of Beer offers a “Loyalty Card” for trying different brews – each pint earns you a point, good towards swag and the ultimate payoff, a $250 bar tab for trying 500 different beers. It’s $15 to join the program.

World of Beer will be located at 503 South Front Street, sharing the same building as performance group Shadowbox Live. Currently, World of Beer’s Brewery District location is scheduled to open in October 2011. Stay tuned for more information.

Have you been to another World of Beer location? Are you excited about this addition to the Columbus drinking scene?

Nice to see some craft beer coming downtown! Going to the Short North and further is a drag. 🙂
