Doc’s Cafe and Wine Bar dresses the uptown Marysville sidewalk with a small arrangement of outdoor tables and chairs, and a podium of wine news for the curious reader. It’s been the business’ mission from the beginning not only to celebrate wine, but also to bring wine education to the city of Marysville in an approachable manner.
Doc’s offers a rotating wine list of styles and vineyards with Ohio wineries like Debonne, Firelands and Ferrante to wines from California, France, Spain, Argentina, Italy, Australia, and Germany. Every week at Doc’s kicks off with Tasting Tuesday, a night of $8 dollar wine flights that showcase the week’s new wines. They also offer $10 wine flights as a daily special.
Doc’s also has a menu of specialty cocktails, whiskeys and bourbons, and bottles of local Ohio craft beer from breweries like Elevator, Thirsty Dog and Great Lakes.
Monday through Friday the cafe is open for breakfast until 11 am, and Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner offering artistic salads, sandwiches and seasonal entrees that pair with the venue’s wine. Menu selections extend on to include a beer cheddar soup, small plate offerings such as Chef Kibby’s mediterranean burger bites, meat and cheese boards, breads and spreads, vegetable Risotto, and a pumpkin ravioli with chopped pecans set in a brown sage butter sauce. And with dessert and baked goods, from a Flourless Chocolate Torte, to bite size Pumpkin Fritters topped in a citrus glaze, the city of Marysville gets even sweeter after dark. Loose leaf teas and French Press coffee are also available to sip on.
Doc’s Cafe and Wine Bar is celebrating their first birthday this weekend – making it the perfect time to check out this diamond wine bar in the rough.
Doc’s is located at 213 E. Fifth Street.
