Barley’s Smokehouse & Brewpub is celebrating 15 years of beer and barbecue goodness during the week of August 5-9.
“When we started talking about our fifteenth anniversary, we knew that we wanted to do something memorable,” said owner Lenny Kolada. “That led to two goals for us: upgrade our brewpub to make our guest experience better, and also to throw a kick-ass party.”
The renovations, which will mostly take place over July 30-31 when the bar will be closed, include adding more seating, specifically community tables designed to accommodate parties of 10-20 people, buying new bar stools, replacing the draft towers for better visibility,
Smokehouse will celebrate their anniversary with a week of limited beer releases dubbed the Smokehouse Rarity Series. Monday, August 5 Smokehouse will release an orange zest and wheat added version of their Katie’s Summer Wheat. Tuesday, August 6 they will tap a spicy variant of Fortune Teller East IPA with added roasted poblano, serrano and Scotch Bonnet hot peppers. Wednesday, August 7, Barley’s actual anniversary, their newest beer goes on tap – Sexy Sadie (Sixty Season) Saison. Sadie is brewed with fresh ginger, cracked coriander, fresh crack black peppercorns and lemongrass. Thursday, August 8 will tap MacLenny’s Scottish Ale with heather flowers. And Friday, August 9 their Hopiate IPA will be poured, along with a TBD firkin.
Also taking place the anniversary week, local musician Joe Peppercorn and his band will perform full album cuts from the Beatles catalog as Sargent Peppercorn and his Lonely Hearts Club Band for six straight hours, starting at 5pm on Tuesday, August 6.
