actual brewing companyActual Brewing has sent an Irish red ale out into the world just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

“We made it using traditional Irish methods from the end of the 18th century, using roasted pale malts” said Actual owner Fred Lee. “Back in the day, the Irish couldn’t afford the lighter pale malts the Brits were using, so that’s why their beers became red. We also grew a special strain of yeast in Europe famous for making fantastic Irish (and nowadays American) ales.”

The beer is red and dry and finishes with a nice malt forward characteristic at 6.3% ABV and 37.5 IBU. It was hopped using 100% hops grown in Fort Recovery, Ohio.

The beer, dubbed Radigan’s Red Ale, is available for your St. Patrick’s Day partying needs at Columbus Brewing Company, The Daily Growler, The Ohio Taproom, Zauber Brewing Company, The Old Mohawk, House Beer and Actual’s brewery.
