Drinking and driving is a bad combination – unless someone else is driving beer to me for drinking, in which case I can get on-board.
The Ohio Taproom is rolling out a mobile taproom this month to bring Ohio craft beer beyond the borders of its Grandview growler room to events around the city.
“During our first year of operation, we participated in several charity events providing Ohio Craft beer, and we were also approached by several other individuals and companies inquiring about the same,” said The Ohio Taproom owner John Evans on the need for a mobile pouring unit. After discussing the idea with customer Greg Solt, whose company AriesGate manufactures truck accessories, the idea for a mobile taproom became a reality.
The bar-on-wheels can’t just pull over and pour you a pint, though: you’ll only find it at licensed festivals or businesses with the proper permits.
“In essence, [the mobile taproom] will be a jockey-box on steroids, and on wheels,” said Evans.
His Dodge Ram 1500 will serve as the prototype for the self-contained mobile taproom. It will be available for rent, and will feature at least six taps, all of which will serve Ohio beer and soda.
You can spot the Mobile Taproom at the opening ceremonies for Columbus Idea Foundary’s new location on May 30 and June 1; at Digfest June 14th; and at Tour de Grandview June 27.

I think the beer bar on wheels is a good idea for those people in a hurry at the festivals.
