On Saturday morning I was perusing a local magazine and wondering what foodstuff I was going to shovel into my facehole when I flipped the page to a full-page ad for brunch at Tucci’s.
Fate.
This was my first visit to Tucci’s – I rarely make it to downtown Dublin – and I was pleasantly surprised when I parked and walked up to a massive, beautiful patio with seating to spare. The weather was perfect, so this drunk brunching was conducted al fresco.
Tuccu’s offers a dozen specialty brunch cocktails in addition to a sizeable wine list. If Bloody Mary’s are your bag, you can choose from their signature Bloody Mary, or a Pickled Mary with chilled dill pickle vodka, a Cajun Bloody Mary with creole seasoning, or a Bourbon Bloody Mary with bacon-infused bourbon. They also feature a few bellinis, and my favorite drink of the day, the Blushing Mimosa: champagne, orange juice, pineapple juice and grenadine, finished with a cherry.
The food offerings are evenly split between breakfast and lunch choices. On the lunch side you’ve got several sandwiches, soups and salads, with omelets and griddle goods for breakfast. I went with the bananas foster french toast topped an entire fried banana, crunchy candied walnuts, cinnamon cream and choice of side (I chose bacon – it’s not really a “choice,” it’s a lifestyle). I also enjoyed a bite of the goat cheese-oozing vegetable omelet that my brunch date ordered.
Brunch at Tucci’s is served Saturdays Sundays from 10am-3pm. Tucci’s is located at 35 North High Street in Dublin.
