Ohio Brew Week July 11-19

ohio brew weekUp for a road trip? Head to Athens July 11-19 for a week-long celebration of all things Ohio beer.

The ninth year of Ohio Brew Week will officially kick off on Friday, July 11, with the fourth annual Rock-N-Roast on the patio of the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center. Attendees will spend the evening jamming to local band Backwords and sipping on Elevator Brewing Company’s Cherry Saison. More live music and BBQ will be served up Friday through Sunday, July 11-13, at Kiser’s Jammin’ Hog Music & BBQ Festival at Eclipse Company Town.

Additional activities throughout the week include keynote speaker Joe Tucker, Founder and CEO of Ratebeer.com, at Jackie O’s on July 14, the launch of Bon Appalachia, a multi-state program designed to showcase the Appalachian region’s diverse food offerings, and an Ohio Brewers Forum and a Hop Growing Symposium (the latter two held on July 16). Seventh Son Brewing will host a tasting and meet-and-greet event on July 15, and a six-course beer pairing dinner will be held at Restaurant Salaam on July 16. To round out the week’s festivities, a street festival, appropriately called The Last Call, will be hosted on the bricks of Court Street in Uptown Athens.
