burnsSmokehouse Brewing is preparing the haggis and pulling out the bagpipes in preparation for their 16th annual Robert Burns Beer Dinner, taking place January 24.

Robert Burns, if you’re not familiar, is a well-known Scottish poet most famous for penning New Year anthem Auld Lang Syne.

At the event, Smokehouse treats guests to fine libations (three single malt scotches and a freshly tapped firkin of Robert Burns Scottish Export Ale), a four course Scottish-inspired dinner, bagpipe music and recitals of Burns’ tender, romantic, spirited and bawdy poetry.

“If you’ve been to the event before you don’t need an explanation; if you’ve never been, there’s no way to explain it,” said Smokehouse owner Lenny Kolada.

The event begins with the Piping of the Haggis at 5:45pm on Saturday, January 24.

Tickets are $60 and available online and at the brewpub. Don’t wait too long to get them, the event is already over halfway sold out.

Smokehouse Brewing is located at 1130 Dublin Road.
