Barleys-BrewingLongtime Columbus craft brewery Barley’s is looking to expand its production this year.

On Tuesday, The Columbus Downtown Commission approved a $600,000 rehabilitation project at 111-115 W. Vine Street, part of which may be converted into a new production brewing facility for Barley’s.

While a lease has not finalized, tentative plans have Barley’s taking the first level of the 9,900-square-foot complex. Barley’s intends to install a 30-barrel brewing system in the space, which will be used solely for production and will not be open to the public.

The new system will supplement the 10-barrel system that will remain at its brewpub, which has been in operation since 1992. Barley’s will use its increased capacity to expand distribution in the Central Ohio market.
