Save the dates for these three epic August beer fests

I usually don’t decide until the last minute if I’m going to attend a festival in Columbus, partially because there are just so damn many events to choose from, but primarily because some days I just don’t feel like putting on pants.

Well button up, because these three upcoming beer fests are worth the effort to squeeze into those skinny jeans.

Columbus Summer Beerfest

August 14-15

columbus summer beerfestNow in its sixth year, the Columbus Summer Beerfest will feature more than 250 beers from local and national craft breweries at the LC Pavilion. Proceeds from Columbus Summer Beerfest benefit Animal Rescue Partners to support regional and local animal rescue efforts.

Brew at the Zoo

August 21

brew at the zooThe second annual Brew at the Zoo presented by Fat Tire amber ale returns to the Zoo’s Aquarium Water’s Edge Events Park, this year headlined by Grammy-nominated rock band The Spin Doctors. The event will feature plenty of craft brews, several food trucks, lions, tigers and bears. Oh, my.

The Summer Session

summer sessionBack for its second year, The Summer Session is the low ABV opposite to the Grandview Craft Beer Alliance’s other signature event, the High Gravity Hullabaloo. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for this laid-back Saturday afternoon event which features an all-Ohio lineup of beers under 5% ABV.
